Tax and Immigration Practices Strengthened with Karr Tuttle Campbell’s Newest Additions

Karr Tuttle Campbell welcomes two senior additions to our firm: Ava Xiaoqiu Wang and Chris S. Brown. Ms. Wang’s practice focuses on immigration law, with a particular emphasis in EB-5 immigration and other employment visa programs. Mr. Brown works primarily in tax law, but also has considerable experience in corporate law and LLC & partnership law.

Ms. Wang has succeeded in bringing “Aliens of Extraordinary Ability” to work in the United States, including computer software engineers from Denmark and Germany, a bullet expert from South Africa, and an HIV researcher from Japan, to name a few. In her complex EB-5 practice, Ms. Wang is involved in the designation of regional centers and I-526 and I-829 for investors. Currently, she counsels two regional centers that are active in Washington State. For eight years, she served as Special Legal Counsel to a major Washington State government entity, handling employment-based immigration matters across the state.

Mr. Brown counsels businesses on various tax aspects of the Washington State Excise Tax, mergers & acquisitions, closely held businesses, and debt and equity instruments. Outside of his tax practice, Mr. Brown serves as general counsel to a number of businesses, providing guidance in corporate law matters. He routinely advises on contract negotiation, joint ventures and equity compensation, among other issues. In addition, Mr. Brown has extensive experience in LLC and partnership law, advising clients in complex voting and economic arrangements and drafting and negotiating LLC and partnership agreements.
